Car Insurance Policy - Six Areas of Coverage
With the rising costs of gas, everyone wants to save as much money as possible when
it comes to their vehicles; however, if an accident occurs, a lot of
money could be coming out of your pocket if you skimp on your car
insurance policy. Below are the six most common areas of coverage
that you should consider having on your car insurance policy.
Make sure
you have uninsured motorists coverage. This will cover
the costs of your injuries should you be involved in an accident
with a driver who does not have insurance.
Make sure
you have bodily injury liability. This will cover
the costs of the injuries you may cause to the other person
involved in the accident.
Property
damage liability will
cover the costs of damages that you may do to another person’s
vehicle.
Personal
Injury Protection
(PIP), or medical, which will cover the costs of injuries, any
costs to replace services, and any lost wages to whomever is
driving the policyholder’s car and any passengers.
Collision coverage
will cover the costs of repairs to your vehicle in the event of
an accident.
Comprehensive
coverage
will cover the costs of repairs to your vehicle if it is damaged
in a way other than a collision with another vehicle. Such
damages include fire, flooding, theft, etc.
You can always
consider adding additional coverage to your car insurance policy, as
well. For example, if you are renting a car for a certain amount of
time, you may want to consider rental car coverage. And, if you
need to tow your car from one place to another, tower’s insurance
will cover you in case of any accidents, damages, etc. You may also
want to consider auto replacement insurance.
Of
course, you don’t have to include each of these areas of coverage,
but doing so could actually save you a lot of time and money in the
event of an accident.
